The first Education Through Sport Summit in Africa, scheduled to take place in Casablanca from 3 to 6 April 2021, will bring together several actors including the sports family, sports educators and coaches, NGOs and sports civil society, young sportsmen and women, elected officials and members of African governments, the private sector of the sports industry, businesses socially engaged in sports and leaders who work to promote access to sport for all. Under the theme “Unleashing the potential of Africa’s youth through the power of sport”, several thousand participants are expected in this virtual event.
The Summit will begin on April 3 with a ministerial plenary and will conclude three days later with a day dedicated to the celebration of April 6. Workshops, conferences and practical demonstrations will punctuate these few days. Discussions are also planned to co-construct a new advocacy strategy in favour of Education through Sport in Africa. The Champion for Peace Melissa Plaza will participate in the event.
