Georgian Sports Ministry renews its commitment for April 6

The International Day of Sport for Development and peace and development can count again on the Georgian Sport Ministry as one of his official members, in order to support and raise awareness on the positive impact of sport in the world.

From the 29th of March to the 10th of April, different events will be organized by the ministry in order to celebrate April6 in the country.

Q&A sessions will take place in 5 schools selected by the Georgian ministry, with famous athletes, followed by physical activities and even competitions. T-shirts will be given to the participants, along with symbolic prizes for winners of quizzes and competitions, autographed books and photographs of invited athletes.
At the end of the event, a general photo will be taken with the #WhiteCard of Peace and Sport, symbol of inclusion and equality.

The ministry will also invite three famous Georgian athletes to share their stories on the official platform April6 led by Peace and Sport, in order to show how sport influenced them in their lives.

On the 6th of April, an action “sport for the benefit of peace and development” will be held in Kutaisi. This action will gather students along with Besik Adamia (former football player), from the Intellectual Club for Peace and Unity, who will give a lecture on the topic of peace and unity. Athletes, city public organizations, representatives of the student football club, will also attend the event and all will play football at the end of it.
And finally, a Breakdance festival will be held in Mziuri (one of the central parks of the capital Tbilissi).

The ministry shared a recommendation to all municipalities to celebrate this 8th International Day for Peace and Sport Development.
