  • My Name is Marie Grace NYINAWUMUNTU, I hold a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport.

I am Rwanda’s first woman football-referee and women’s National Football coach. In my career as referee I always used both Red and Yellow cards to penalize the players but now; I use the white card to promote peace through sports in my field.

As part of AKWOS (Organization or Women in Sports) staff, I use my knowledge about sport to inspire girls and women to not shy away from their dreams but instead use their talents in building a better life for themselves and their communities. I strongly believe that sport is a great tool to help girls and women become confident and agent of peace and sports.
